Zoom AI Companion 3.0: Agentic workflows for meetings, notes and low-code automation

New Feature / Update: Zoom AI Companion 3.0

What is it?
Zoom AI Companion 3.0 is an update that moves Zoom’s AI beyond simple meeting summaries into persistent, agent-like features that can access your browser, pull data from meetings and connected apps, and run low-code workflows from a drag-and-drop designer, so the assistant can do follow-up work for you rather than only summarise it.

This 3.0 release adds browser access for the assistant, agentic workflows that can orchestrate tasks across apps, a “Help Me Write” style document generator, and a low-code workflow designer so non-developers can build automation that acts on meeting content and other data sources, according to Zoom’s rollout notes reported in industry coverage last week and in mid December 2025.

Why does it matter?

  • It saves time on follow up. Instead of taking notes, finding action items, and then pasting them into Asana or Slack, the Companion can extract decisions from a meeting transcript and start a workflow that creates tasks in Asana, drafts the follow up email in Gmail, and schedules the next check-in in Google Calendar.
  • Non-technical teams can automate useful workflows. Marketing teams can generate a campaign brief from a product meeting using “Help Me Write” then route that brief to Canva and the design queue without needing a developer to build an integration.

Practical use cases

  • Content lead: after a Monday product sync the Companion auto-summarises the call, drafts a campaign brief, populates a Notion page and notifies the copywriter in Slack , all from a drag-and-drop workflow you built on Tuesday afternoon.
  • Operations manager: run a workflow that scans customer support call transcripts, flags recurring bugs, opens tickets in Zendesk and creates a weekly digest for the engineering lead , no code, just configuration.

Key points at a glance

Feature Why it helps
Browser access for the assistant Allows the assistant to fetch up-to-date info during workflows
Agentic workflows Lets the assistant perform multi-step tasks across apps
Low-code drag-and-drop designer Makes automation accessible to non-developers
Help Me Write document generation Speeds creation of briefs, emails and post-meeting content

How I might use it , real sentences, real tools

  • Last Tuesday I had a cram session with our growth lead; instead of me typing notes into a Google Doc afterwards I’d let Companion summarise the meeting, draft a short brief, push that to a Notion content board and ping the writer in Slack to start a draft , that’s shaving hours off the usual dance.
  • If you sync Zoom to Shopify and Zendesk you could have Companion detect inventory issues mentioned in a CS call, create a restock task in Trello and open a Zendesk ticket automatically; it’s the kind of stuff ops people used to ask developers for, now you can prototype it in an afternoon.

Limitations and quick cautions

  • Agentic features often need careful permissions and governance; you should check who can authorise workflows and what data the assistant can access before you let it act across apps.
  • These automations reduce repetitive work but you still need human oversight for judgement calls like prioritising bugs or approving external communications.

Short, practical and useful. Try building a simple post-meeting workflow on Thursday afternoon and iterate , flip it with faith, and let the Companion do the boring chopping so you can do the tasty plating.
